Ritual Background Checks
Let us begin our debunking with DEFINITION #3---Social Customs and Normal Protocol.
A practice-event-something done normally, regularly---on a consistent basis. You know, we know, everybody knows, it's your regular. Standard. Ritual. Ritual to the point of becoming law!!!---
Which brings us to DEFINITION #2---according to religious law
Aye Yo Gotti---what chu say??? "That’s Law”
Translation---that’s fact, there is no deviation from what is said or what is said will be done.
It is so, and THATS LAW.
It’s a Celebration Snitcheeeeees!!!!
DEFINITION #1---of or relating to rites or a ritual, ceremonial
HONOR YOURSELF, thats right, pay tribute and the upmost homage to you. Having SELF LOVE RITUALS in place affirm your Self Worth and Build your Self Value---Put YOU FIRST and commit to doing what you want Ritually, without shame or procrastination. A ritual can be festive or sacred and holy, the purpose surpasses that of the simple day to day. The meaning behind the ritual is substantial and upon completion energies are heightened and awareness increased. This practice is held to high esteem, it is meaningful. This does not mean the Ritual is elaborate---it means the ritual is
A Self Love Ritual combines all the above and embodies what you love to do the most---It makes you feel one with self. It solidifies your existence and gratifies your presence as a Spiritual Being in Human Form, It completes you---It makes you feel good---It fuels your soul.
When I was first learning how to roller skate and fell in absolute complete love with it---I was at Temple Hills Skate Palace Ritualistically, though. If I was not at the rink on a Saturday Morning I was there Monday night for the Adult Skate or Mid Week for Open Skating. I mean, I was committed. The mental and physical release I experienced on those skates was like any other I knew or had ever felt before!!! Sweat Dripping, Mind Clear, Body Groovin and Totally Free---The release was so real to the point of me loosing a significant amount of weight, loving Roller Skating and loving Me.
Roller Skating is my favorite Self Love Ritual.
I’m going to get back to skating at minimum once per week and making it count!!!
If you haven't created a SELF LOVE RITUAL, YOU SHOULD!!! Think of your most favorite-most effortless-most energizing or relaxing thing to do---how you can turn that into a Ritualistic Practice??? Let me know what you decide--- For those who have SELF LOVE RITUALS in place, write me back and let me know what your Self Love Ritual is, why it's important to you and how it got started. Peace.
I had such a great day with my niece! I gladly commit to Aunty Duty, my 5 year old niece Layla is full of life, love and never ending questions. I’m here for it, always. I'm glad she said she wanted to go to the zoo, IAM a nature girl, I flipping love animals and I love being at the zoo! I returned home late Friday evening from a long, beautiful, long day at the zoo with my niece.
If you know anything bout DMV summer weather you know by mid day, it’s hot and it’s extremely humid. Well today the weather Gods were with us, it was suppose to rain so the clouds stuck around most of the day. It was cloudy and breezy. Perfect weather for an afternoon of walking…literally, walking for hours at the zoo. For some reason before today, I never realized when you’re at the zoo, you’re constantly walking, like the whole entire time. My niece made me stop for a break and I had to stop a couple times too. Here is Layla's list of animals to visit (she gave to me as soon as we got inside the zoo)
We saw all of these and more minus the Pandas and Penguins. We walked from Harvard St to Connecticut Avenue, one side of the zoo to the other and we didn’t even see all the animals! Rock Creek Park is way bigger than I thought. Here are some flicks from our day at the zoo!
I spent the day playing in makeup and painting my face. I had so much fun learning how to use different brushes, trying different techniques and glamming myself up...
I find comfort in doing the things that I love most, I had no recollection of time, person or idea. Just me and my makeup. This "escaping of time" is what I call a self love ritual. Doing what you want to do most bump everything else and everybody else...yes sometimes doing you requires isolation! Do more of what you love to do. I had such an awesome day and this beat tho!!! I love me some me!!!
Do you have self love rituals in place? What do you do to separate yourself from time, space and outside influences? What do you loooove to do that leaves you feeling fulfilled, accomplished and rejuvenated? How will you make more time for the things you enjoy most?
I find the most comfort and am most confidence and consciousness when I do the things I enjoy. When attending to MY needs and surround myself with things and people I like. This is so important for growth and development. True understanding of self, knowing what you need and when you need it. There is no better doctor for mental health than YOU!
In this VLOG, IAM sharing my thoughts on the importance of meditation, detox and mental health, join the conversation with me and leave your comments below. P.S. I now understand why you should never chew gum while recording... *smacks and pops gum* Thank goodness there will be a next time...
You are soley responsible for reminding yourself of how AWESOMELY AWESOME you are. I was challeged by my mentor to look through my photos to compose a timeline of my life. I encourage you to do the same. While looking I concluded at the end of the day, MY STORY IS MY STORY AND MY PATH IS MY PATH and IAM AWESOMELY AWESOME. Here are just a few photos of me being me...
This is me embodying my inner ANIMAE ROCK STAR,
who happens to be infatuated wih ironic,
Limited Edition Chuck Taylors.
This is me at my core,
Minus the blazer...
I'm more of a Graphic T kind of Superhero.
This is me rocking my first Cowboy Hat.
This summer I discovered I really...really...really like hats,
Cowboy Hats especially, but hadn't worn them often because
I was concerned about what other people would think of me...
glad that "what other people think of me" phase is over.
