LIFE, LEE-DERSHIP & LEGACY OF DEACON RICHARD LEE LUCAS Grandfather of Lakesha Lee, IAMLAKESHALEE ENTERPRISES Owner; Generations of children, grandchildren and great- grand children uphold the Legacy and Lineage of the Alabama native turned Buffalonian, Deacon Richard Lee Lucas Sr.
Born December 11, 1923, Richard grew up in the little southern town of Wetumpka, Alabama. nestled between the Tallapoosa and Coosa River. During the flourish of the Industrial Revolution, with opportunity and destiny in mind, Richard migrated North settling in Buffalo, New York. He soon met his wife Lorene and raised four highly ambitious & intelligent children, Fred, Coleen, Philomena and Richard Jr.
Deacon Richard is revered as faithful husband, loving & caring grandfather, committed Deacon & ministry worker and he dedicated 40+ years of consistent & exceptional work as Foreman & Machine Operator at the largest steel mill in Erie County, New York. Grandad's life work: Empower his family love one another, Empower his family to be Self-Sufficient & Always be good to those WHO ARE GOOD TO YOU. Grandaddy's Legacy is continued through his predecessors-from his everyday life and teachings with an exceptional display of Black Excellence & pure character, imparting to each one of us the value of Supreme Grounded-ness, Self Knowledge, Self-Confidence, Self-Sufficiency, Respect, Leedership and Community.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
The LEEDERSHIP Scholarship applicant must be enrolled in an accredited and approved HBCU four-year institution; Show leadership potential; and not possess a degree from a 2 or 4-year College when applying for the scholarship.
Applicant must demonstrate ambition plus exemplary Life, Leedership and Legacy Building skills as evidenced by outstanding achievement in school, community or work-related activities.

THE LEEDERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP AWARD IS MADE TO THE UNIVERSITY OF THE RECIPIENTS ACCEPTANCE.
AWARD AMOUNT: (2 RECIPIENTS) $350
