WORDS BEATS & LIFE INC. HIP HOP FESTIVAL 2016

I've had my eyes on Words Beats and Life for years and finally made a commitment to attend a WBL event!  This weekend I attended The Words Beats and Life Hip Hop Festival. The festival ran Nov 1-6,  and was packed with free Performances, Workshops, Discussions and Ciphers, Yoga a Creative Economy Job Fair, Photography Contest, Chess Tournament and a hands on DJ Masterclass with DJ Premier.  DJ Premier paid tribute to the late great GURU on the ones and twos Saturday night live on JFK Center Millennium Stage.  I was able to attend the Festival all day Saturday. I linked with leaders in non profit organization, met the amazingly beautiful and exceedingly talented choreographer/dancer, ROCKAFELLA, Life The Grio along with the boys of Chess and Community (one of the boys found my lost iPhone that afternoon) and Monique Johnson, Founder of Children of The Light Inc., to name a few.  It was truly my pleasure to be amongst such positive influencers, youth from diverse communities and likeminded artistic individuals. Shoutout to Words Beats and Life Inc. for the impactful change they are making to inspire and empower the youth within the DMV community and beyond!
